Generators and Standing Engines: Bellows Formed Products
All connectors are manufactured from twin ply stainless steel, with an external braid covering 100% of the bellows to prevent the ingress of damaging foreign matter. Leading corrugations smooth the transition of the initial movement throughout the length of the flex.

Unlined exhaust flex connectors are the most commonly used, being suitable for both petrol and diesel engines. The Senior flex has a unique bellows form which absorbs a wide range of both lateral and axial movement.
Braid lined exhaust flex connectors have an internal braid giving 95% internal coverage of the bellows, and are designed for use where there is more noise and heat than usual. Noise can be caused by certain engine characteristics, and airflow over the bellows, and high temperatures are often found with close-coupled catalytic converters. The braid reduces noise, and dissipates heat. Where there is movement, caused by lack of exhaust system hangers, for example, the braid also prevents over-extension of the bellows.
Interlock lined exhaust flex connectors are used in very high heat, very noisy, and / or very severe road conditions. The liner is a strip of stainless steel, wound inside the conventional flex, with an airspace between the two, which improves gas cooling and airflow. It also strengthens the connector against movement, and reduces noise levels.
The entire Senior Aftermarket product range is ambient and hot tested (to 800°C) to destruction. To ensure all products meet the demands of all modern cars including both turbo-engined, and those with close coupled catalytic converters.
